Edinburgh Capitals coach Steven Lynch has urged his players to be on their toes when they head to Kilmarnock Thunder in the latest round of SNL fixtures.
After the euphoria of their first win of the season at Dundee Comets, it’s off to Ayrshire for the Caps where they’re looking to make it two out of three.
And Lynch is still looking to perfect certain aspects of his team as they move deeper into the campaign.
“We’re still trying to find our identity as a team and I’m looking for them to do certain things in a certain way so two games in, we’re starting to see that,” he said.
“When we don’t have the puck, we’re working hard to try and win it back and I saw signs of that against Dundee Comets.
“In Kilmarnock, it’s never easy in there. It can be a battle, a bit of a dogfight and we have to be prepared for things happening a little bit quicker.
“Pucks to the net, skating through the neutral zone happen much faster. We know it’s not the nicest place to play in, so we to dig and and fight and make sure we come out with the two points.”

Thunder are looking to bounce back themselves after suffering back to back losses to Dundee Comets and local rivals, North Ayrshire Wild as they head into their fourth home game in five.
League leaders Aberdeen Lynx will look to strengthen their position at the top of the SNL when Wild take a tip to the North East.
Scott Cowan’s men will still be enjoying that winning feeling from their 4-2 win over Kilmarnock and an unlikely victory over Lynx would be quite the way to build on that.
On Sunday, Dundee Comets play host to Paisley Pirates with double points up for grabs as Pirates look to bounce back from two sobering, yet narrow home losses.
While they salvaged a point in that overtime defeat to Tigers, Ian Turley and his men will have their sights firmly set on a four-point haul.
Comets themselves are keen to get that winning feeling again after their 5-4 loss to the Capitals, despite Richard Hartmann’s hat-trick.
The weekend is rounded off with Kirkcaldy Kestrels welcoming Dundee Tigers to Fife Ice Arena as they look to chase down Aberdeen after losing to them last week.
Tigers will have something to say about that after winning their last two and with confidence behind them, would fancy themselves to make that three and deliver a further blow to the defending champions.
